Design Details
Each story runs about 150 words with blanks, long enough to build a narrative arc but short enough to read aloud in under two minutes. The prompts are calibrated so that nearly any word choice produces something funny. The stories are written for adults, with setups that reward unexpected or inappropriate word choices without requiring them. The tear-off prompt section lets one player collect words from the group before reading the completed story aloud.
Print one story per round. Pass the prompt sheet around the table and collect words, then read the completed story to the group.
Pairs With
- Halloween Charades Cards for a more physical game
- Halloween Bingo for a quick round between stories
- Cocktail Recipe Cards because these get funnier with drinks
